Academic Timesheets: Roll out to Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health
In February 2024, Research Finance and the Research Lifecycle Programme will be rolling out the new academic timesheet system to all research colleagues in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health who are currently required to submit timesheets, as per their research funder terms and conditions.
The system has already been successfully rolled out to projects in the Faculties of Humanities and Science and Engineering. The system now hosts over 550 live users.
All future academic timesheet submissions will be expected to be completed digitally, and this solution will replace the current paper / spreadsheet format, creating a less labour-intensive process for researchers.
The new timesheet system takes project details from ResourceLink and Oracle, and presents researchers with a single screen showing all of their projects and work packages requiring completion. The system will then route timesheets to the relevant authoriser and send reminders at agreed points to encourage timely completion.
Importantly, the new system meets funder requirements, is acceptable to EU and UKRI auditors, and will crucially reduce the risk of research funding having to be returned because of non-completion of timesheets.
To access training and support material for the new academic timesheet system, please visit our Academic Timesheet Support SharePoint site, where you will find user guides, answers to frequently asked questions, and other content that will help you utilise the system effectively.
If you have any questions about the rollout of the academic timesheet system, please email daniel.hudson@manchester.ac.uk for more details.
