Professional services for research (B)
We intend to:
- Improve performance, morale and effectiveness of colleagues working to support research, by treating central and faculty/school-based roles in Research IT, Research Data Management and Research Support as professions, and putting in place tools to support this.
We plan to deliver:
- Clear signposting – where to go for help, with a defined set of job families and standardised job descriptions
- Communities of practice across the University to match the research lifecycle
The benefits:
- Better morale, staff satisfaction and retention of talent
- Increased effectiveness measured by Cubane satisfaction figures
- Human resource planning for the research support functions, allowing investment in critical roles supporting the research strategy
- Better grant application processes, quality and success rates
